A barn with a story

The tree you eat on, and walk up

Whitehall was a barn and a dairy. Since 2012 we have been turning it into a home for groups, working with local craftspeople.

In 2014 our favourite tree, a 378-year-old beech, died back. We had it planked and left it to season. It is now the dining table you will eat at and the stairs you will walk up. An original stone wall still stands in one of the bedrooms, and there are over 100 square metres of underfloor heating under your feet.
